Today, the 7th of April, is World Health Day and this year’s theme is
Depression: Let’s talk.
Without adding much to it, I’m going to say, what I’m sure everyone knows but still it needs repeating, depression is an illness. Like any other physical disease, this, too, is a disease and people suffering from it should seek help. This isn’t an attention seeking act or a sign of weakness. So, please speak up, seek help or talk to someone you trust about your problem. And if you know someone who might be fighting this battle alone, please be there for them.
Neither did I. I read it somewhere and I was very surprised at how true it was.

This reminds me of something I read about Neville once. That he was so scared of Snape that he couldn’t speak or couldn’t move in his class, yet everyday he went back and sat in his place and tried to make his potions and if that isn’t being a Gryffindor, if that isn’t being Brave, then I don’t know what is.
I guess Snape was to him, what depression is to us. And the only way he chose to deal with it is by facing it everyday.

Yes, it’s so true, right? Snape was actually the form of depression to Neville. I had never thought about it this way.

I have been through that stage too. It was 2 years back. In fact, it’s only after I started going to a counsellor, did I get better. So, I know how that feels.
Thank you! 😊

I battled a lot of anxiety last year and totally agree that staying quiet doesn’t help! Great post
